Go Go Power Rangers!!!!!

Well being that I am the baker in the family. Why not bake cakes for birthdays? So I pushed myself some because I had not done a Character cake before and now since I want to do more. Since there will be another kiddie birthday approaching soon. My baby will be 6! Okay so technically he's not a baby baby but he's my baby and he knows mommy loves him.

Back to the cake. Now I got really creative with this because the Power Rangers have tons of colors to use for their characters. The cool part about the end result is that it looked similar to a store bought cake! Yay me! And with all the bake shops and departments in the store it was easy to find everything that I needed to make the cake. I made the cake a two layer chocolate cake with cream cheese filling and the cupcakes were also chocolate with cream cheese filling. The icing I made a cream cheese one as well. So yes a lot of cream cheese was involved in the making of this film. LOL in the making of this cake! In the stores they sale these edible color mist that I ended up using to represent each Power Ranger and the character pieces came from a local bakery supply store.

The beautiful part of it all was seeing the faces of my niece the birthday girl and the family because I had made the cake. Like I said before I love making people smile with my talent and if that comes from me baking then so be it. So from one birthday to the next here we go and from what I heard TMNT and for those that don't know who that is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be making a guest appearance!!!!!! Sweets are me! Till next pie!!!!!!!

White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake

Just looking at the title it makes your mouth water right?

I never knew itwould be that easy to make a cheesecake. I always thought that cheesecake took so much time and detail. But who's the baker???? ME, ME, ME!!!!!! So guess what turned out to be easy as cake? CHEESECAKE hince the cake in it's name. I am so excited I can not wait until it has chilled tomorrow to taste it.

It used very simple ingredients too. I had some soften(room temp) cream cheese. Now some recipes out there will call for Philadelphia brand but to keep it cheap I just used store brand. You have your normal sugar, eggs and vanilla. Now the special ingredients for this particular cheesecake was white chocolate and frozen strawberries. Once all the ingredients are gathered then you bake it. YES I said bake it. It is still a cake people. Lol. After baking it you bring it out to cool. Then it goes into the refrigerator for about 6-8 hours.

I know come tomorrow the boys are going to love it. While tasting the leftover batter I had to force myself to stop. LOL. Yes it came out just that good. So until the next baking adventure. There may be more soon since V-day is coming up soon. More ovens to ya!

Fudge

Hello hello hello
It's fudge time!!!!!!!
I never really new fudge was so easy to make until I originally purchased a kit from the store. Once I saw what was in the ingredients I then told myself that I did not need a kit because it was just that easy. The cool part about having fudge as a treat is that after you make it the portion size can be whatever you prefer. Also I have come to find that by adding pecans or peppermint you can give it your own little twist of flavor.

The ingredients used are chocolate morsels(I prefer nestle), evaporated milk, marshmallows and sugar. Once you have all those ingredients mixed in then you can either add coconut flakes, pecan pieces or peppermint. Then you place it in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours to give it enough time to set.

Because I am such a chocolate lover I make sure I keep the basic ingredients stocked. The way I see it is it's an awesome stress reliever that I made before leaving for work. Also once cut into small pieces I don't have to worry about my boys eating too much of it and that leaves more for mommy!

Happy Baking and I hope you get to try some fudge!

Armaretto German Chocolate Cake

Well I said I like to bake. Who wouldn't like to put a twist on the regular German Chocolate Cake(which just so happens to be my moms fav). Sometime I doubt what I am capable of. But from what I am told is that when I do that my sweets come out the best. I know that seems a little backwards huh?

All you do is take your normal ingredients for the GCC and add to the mix some Armaretto flavoring. Now what I used because I wasn't to sure was a little Armaretto liquor but not too much because you don't want to take awat from the taste of the GCC. I normally use the bundt cake pan but since I had quite a but I used the rectangular 13x9in pan.

The end result will have the house smelling lovely. I am not an Armaretto fan but yet again it does smell good. Challenge accomplished and customer satisified. Until the next one don't eat too many sweets because of me! Love Ya

Red Velvet Whoopie Pies

My fav cook Ms Paula Deen showed me this one on TV. Now I am a big fan of Red Velvet cake myself but to make something called Whoppie pies can sound a little scary. Being that it is coming up on the 4th I figured why not do a simple treat that is red and white also.

All you basically do is take the batter from the red velvet mix and spoon them on a cookie sheet. Before you spoon the mix you need to spray the cookie sheet with a non stick spray. You do that so that the end result sorta look like the little debbie oatmeal pies. Anywho, you will need to spoon enough batter so that you have an even number for example if you want 6 whoopie pies you need to put down 12 spoonfuls. For the cream I think I may put some sort of vanilla pudding in the mix to give it that vanilla taste.

Now the big day for this is tomorrow when the family meets for dinner and I bring the dessert. I am so excited to be trying this being that I love red velvet cake. Well friends until next treat or should I say next weekend. May the flour be with you! XOXOXO
